The Russian RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is considered the most powerful weapon in the world, according to Sohu journalists. According to them, attempts to compare Sarmat with any American and Chinese counterparts only confirmed the superiority of the former.
The Russian development is capable of traveling over 18,000 km — more than the American LGM-30G Minuteman III (13,000 km) and the Chinese DF-41 (14,000 km).
Combat capabilities are impressive: the missile is capable of carrying either one powerful warhead or a multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle with 10–15 charges. The total power of the charges is estimated at 25 megatons, while the Chinese DF-41 reaches only 4 megatons.
Currently, there is no other ICBM in the world that can compare with it, including other combat systems in service with Russia.
Features of the RS-28 Sarmat:
The length of the missile is 36 m, the diameter is 3 m. To protect against enemy missile defense systems, the Sarmat missile is equipped with false targets. Enemy anti-missiles intercept them, and the warhead of the ICBM flies to defeat.
