The "URAL" Automobile Plant in Miass (Chelyabinsk region) has started production of a new Ural-80 truck with a 4x4 wheel configuration. Specialized vehicles have already been created on its base: a fire truck and a shift bus.
The new chassis, indexed Ural-43206-6912-67, is designed to replace the previous model Ural-43206. Its key features are reduced overall dimensions while increasing payload capacity to more than 5 tons. The car is equipped with a Russian YaMZ-535 diesel engine with a capacity of 240 hp, manufactured by the Yaroslavl Motor Plant. By reducing the front overhang by 210 mm, the geometric cross-country ability and visibility from the driver's seat have improved.
On the basis of the chassis, a subsidiary of the plant has launched the production of a fire truck. In addition, the company "ГИРД" from Miass presented the shift bus "Berloga". It is designed to transport 20 people on roads of various categories and off-road. The cabin is equipped with heating and ventilation systems, and the body is made using frameless technology from sandwich panels for increased thermal insulation.
"Ural-80" is positioned by the manufacturer as a promising platform for creating various special equipment.
