Flammable liquid vapors exploded on small tanker project 414V "Onemen" in Chukotka

An explosion of flammable liquid vapors occurred without subsequent fire on the Russian small tanker "Onemen" (project 414V), which was en route to the port of Anadyr. The incident occurred 110 km from Anadyr while returning after delivering 300 tons of fuel to the village of Markovo.

As a result, the captain and one crew member were injured - both were taken by air to the Chukotka District Hospital and are in serious condition in intensive care. The tightness of the vessel has not been compromised, and no fuel has been spilled. The tanker is currently being towed to the port of Anadyr for inspection and repair of possible damage.

The tanker of project 414V is a Russian small river vessel designed for the transportation of petroleum products and dry cargo along inland waterways, including areas with limited depth.
