The High-Precision Mechanics Center of the Ural Federal University (HPMC UrFU) will launch a new production site for the serial production of high-precision servo drives and gearboxes by the end of 2025. The developments are aimed at import substitution in key sectors of Russian industry.
The center's capacities will be able to provide serial production of components that are in demand in the automotive industry, aviation industry, robotics, and automated production lines. The potential of the new site was assessed by the First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Alexey Shmykov, during a working visit.
About 650 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated for the creation and equipping of the center. The total area of production facilities is 2.4 thousand square meters. The park of high-tech equipment includes 45 units.
According to the university, preliminary market monitoring shows the presence of more than 100 potential customers throughout the country. The volume of annual demand for manufactured servo drives in Russia is estimated at about 50 thousand units.
