The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reports on cases of renting accounts in the national messenger Max. Fraudulent call centers temporarily take other people's accounts for use for a fee.
The scheme repeats a scenario previously worked out on foreign messenger accounts. Criminals use the same infrastructure. Attackers find willing people among schoolchildren and students. They are usually paid from $10 to $15. It is reported that such cases are isolated.
The security forces emphasize that the administration of the domestic messenger Max promptly blocks suspicious accounts after reports, while to stop illegal activities in foreign messengers, it is necessary to block the subscriber number to which the account is linked.
