Польша отказалась эксплуатировать советские вертолёты Ми-14ПЛ

Машины этого типа служили в морской авиации страны более 40 лет

In Poland, on August 31, 2025, a ceremony will be held to decommission the last Soviet Mi-14PL anti-submarine helicopter. Rotary-wing aircraft of this type served in the republic's naval aviation for over 40 years and were considered among the best in the world for combating submarines.

Mi-14 helicopters of the Polish Navy were based at the 44th Naval Aviation Base Darłowo (44 Baza Lotnictwa Morskiego (44.BLotM)) on the northwest coast of Poland.

In the 1980s, Poland received 12 Mi-14PL helicopters from the USSR. During their service, they underwent several modernizations, but the wear and tear of the systems and airframe made their further operation impossible.

Mi-14 amphibious helicopters were created on the basis of the Mi-8T. They are distinguished by the installation of a sealed boat-shaped bottom instead of the helicopter's power floor.

Stable floats are attached to the sides of the boat-shaped bottom. Other systems of the aircraft were also adapted for use on water.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that unique electric-drive thrust reverser grilles were invented for the PD-14 aircraft engine.
