STAN Holding (part of Rostec) has launched serial production of high-performance milling heads for heavy-duty aircraft machine tools. The products will replace imported models, the state corporation said.
ST-03 two-axis fork milling heads are optimized for working with titanium, a key material in the aviation industry. They are designed for five-coordinate portal machining centers with CNC, Rostec said.
Such machines are capable of processing large metal blanks for civil aircraft, including wing parts up to 24 meters long, the state corporation added.
At the same time, STAN engineers solved the task of designing and launching the production of ST-03 milling heads in record time - in just 8 months. The first machines with new components have successfully passed factory tests and are already in operation.
Earlier www1.ru reported that unique thrust reverser grilles with electric drive were invented for the PD-14 aircraft engine.
