Управлять дроном рукой: разработка МИФИ позволяет контролировать БПЛА с помощью перчатки

In addition to drones, the system can be adapted to control ground robots, cameras and other devices

A team of students from several Russian universities has created the SkyControl system for intuitive control of civilian drones using a glove. This year, the development will begin to be used in additional education. The project is headed by Anastasia Popova, a student at National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and the technical idea belongs to Daniil Zaitsev from Samara University.

SkyControl glove for controlling drones

SkyControl is a glove with sensors that allows you to control the drone with hand movements. The device is equipped with gyroscopes, magnetometers and accelerometers that transmit a signal to the controller and then to the drone. According to the developers, the system is easy to learn: even a beginner can learn to control it in 10 minutes.

The project has passed the accelerator of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Rosatom, and also became a laureate of the Fakel of the National Technology Olympiad award. It is planned that SkyControl will be used in youth centers for teaching robotics. In addition to drones, the system can be adapted to control ground robots, cameras and other devices.

A prototype is now ready, and the first working copies will be delivered to educational institutions in the fall of 2025. According to the developers, there is already interest in the project.
