Only 8% of Russians are willing to pay for access to websites and blogs without advertising. This is evidenced by data from the research company Romir. The study shows that the vast majority of respondents — 92% — choose free content, even if it contains advertising blocks.
According to the survey, 79% of respondents consider advertising a necessary payment for free access to information. More than 80% of participants understand that it is advertising revenue that allows the media, bloggers and application developers to continue their activities.
18% of respondents are open to alternative monetization models, such as sponsorship and voluntary donations. However, one in four of them cannot clearly explain how content makers will be able to survive without advertising.
In addition, 88% of survey participants consider advertising an important tool for the development of small business. More than half of the respondents, 64%, admit that advertising influences their consumer decisions.
