Russian engineers have created a jam-resistant navigation device VEL-16X2 capable of suppressing about 15 interferences simultaneously. It was presented at the forum "Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future" in Skolkovo.
The information materials indicate that VEL-16X2 is a 16-channel, dual-band device with an anti-spoofing function (a set of measures aimed at preventing the masking of genuine sources of information and data under other, fake ones).
VEL-16X2 functions:
- receiving signals from global navigation satellite system satellites
- filtering intentional and unintentional interference
- preventing the transition to false coordinates
- ensuring the issuance of reliable navigation information
The product has interference immunity up to 100 dB with 1 interference, up to 95 dB with 3 interferences, and 90 dB with 15 interferences, respectively. VEL-16X2 is suitable for navigation of drones, airplanes, ground transport, marine vessels, and unmanned surface vehicles (USV).
The developers also showed a smaller VEL-11X3. Unlike the more powerful analogue, the interference immunity of this device is about 92 dB with 9 interferences.
