The two brightest planets in the sky will approach the minimum distance on August 11, 12 and 13

Venus and Jupiter, the two brightest planets in the night sky, will approach the minimum distance. This astronomical phenomenon can be observed in the pre-dawn hours for three days: August 11, 12 and 13.

The greatest convergence will occur on the morning of August 12 — the planets will be at a distance of 1 degree from each other (approximately two lunar diameters). In central Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg), the optimal time for observation is from 2:00 to 4:00 local time.

In the southern regions, the planets will be visible from 2:30 to 4:30. You need to look for them above the northeastern horizon, in the direction of sunrise.
