New measuring instruments are being mastered at the KAMAZ plant laboratory

The instruments were purchased to improve the accuracy of quality control of parts

The laboratory of technical measurements of the KAMAZ automobile plant has begun to use new equipment – a measuring microscope and a profilometer. The instruments were purchased as part of the "Bridge Production" project to improve the accuracy of quality control of parts.

New measuring instrument

As explained by the head of the laboratory, Vladimir Salychev, the new devices allow for more accurate verification of the conformity of parts to design documentation. The Profnovator microscope combines the functions of several devices and automates measurements, reducing the influence of the human factor. With its help, it is possible to measure geometric parameters, including diameters, angles, and the location of holes.

The profilometer is designed to assess surface roughness with an accuracy of 2–12 microns. It is equipped with different sensors, which allows measurements to be taken in hard-to-reach places. Both devices generate measurement protocols in digital form, speeding up the control process.

The laboratory is expecting the arrival of additional equipment. The modernization of measuring systems is aimed at improving the quality of products.
