Geomagnetic disturbances of level G1 have begun on Earth. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of IKI and ISZF.
The level of the storm is still moderate. At the moment, its only source is the influence of the coronal hole. The expected plasma ejections from the Sun have not yet arrived. In the event of their arrival at night, a significant increase in disturbances is possible.
On the morning of August 9, Moscow time, the solar wind front reached the Earth's magnetic shell. Its speed was from 600 to 700 kilometers per second. The geomagnetic index Kp jumped to six points. This became a record since June 13.
