Ethiopia did not conclude an agreement with Russia on the transfer of Boeing and Airbus aircraft for wet leasing. The carrier Ethiopian Airlines itself is facing a shortage of aircraft due to supply delays and does not plan to transfer equipment to other parties, the company's CEO Mesfin Tassew said at a press conference.
With his speech, Tassew confirmed that the parties had indeed held negotiations on the wet leasing of vessels.
"We ourselves need more aircraft," he noted, emphasizing that leasing aircraft contradicts the airline's current strategy.
The media reported that a Russian delegation led by trade representative Yaroslav Tarasyuk discussed future cooperation with the leadership of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), including the development of repair facilities in Addis Ababa and the supply of navigation equipment.
However, there was no talk of any signed agreements - the parties were only exploring options for interaction. Nevertheless, after the publication of the ECAA statement, a stir began in the media, and the department soon deleted the post about the meeting on social networks.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of поступления of Su-57 fighters into the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
