The investigation has charged six employees of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant branch

The investigation into the crash of the Su-30 fighter jet in 2022 in Irkutsk is ongoing, and charges have been brought against employees of PJSC "Irkut Corporation" (part of the Rostec Irkutsk Aviation Plant).

The suspects are accused of negligence and abuse of power, according to Alexey Alexandrov, head of the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to Alexandrov, the duration of the investigation is due to the complexity of the criminal case, the conduct of a wide range of complex examinations, and numerous interrogations of witnesses in various regions of the country.

According to the conclusions of the flight-technical forensic examination, the direct cause of the air crash was the complete loss of working capacity of the aircraft crew, caused by hypoxia of the pilots due to breathing nitrogen, which began to flow from the aircraft's on-board oxygen system.
