Container EW "Talisman" for Su-30SM and MiG-29BM Developed in Belarus

The system suppresses radar illumination of SAMs and provides target designation to the IR trap ejection system

The Belarusian company "Defense Assets" has developed a new containerized electronic warfare (EW) system "Talisman" for MiG-29BM, Su-25SM2, Yak-130 fighters and, probably, Su-30SM.

The system not only suppresses the transmitting and receiving paths of radar stations (radars) for detecting and illuminating anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs), but also provides target designation to the IR trap ejection system when approaching anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMs) are detected.

The "Talisman" complex is built on a three-module multi-band principle. The system is equipped with a barrier radar to detect and warn the crew of the approach of an air or anti-aircraft guided missile with an optical or thermal homing head.

The containerized EW system is second only to the American high-energy containerized EW systems AN/ALQ-249 "Next Generation Jammer", the emitting modules of which are based on AESA with gallium nitride microwave transistors.
