88-year-old amateur aircraft designer dies in Kirov region while testing homemade helicopter

The tragic incident occurred during testing, an investigation is underway

In the Kirov region, 88-year-old amateur designer Vladimir Trapeznikov was fatally injured while testing his own helicopter.

The incident occurred on July 31 - the helicopter "self-destructed", a blade pierced the pensioner's head. According to REN TV, the man died in the hospital.

Trapeznikov had been involved in aircraft modeling since he was young and had built five aircraft since 1964.

Currently, the prosecutor's office is conducting an audit of compliance with legislation on flight safety and is preparing to take measures if violations are found.
