From glass waste: production of building insulation will be established in Russia

The recycling technology is planned to be standardized to involve more secondary resources

Foam glass recycling technologies (durable insulation made from recycled glass) will begin to be used in construction in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Environmental Operator (REO).

As part of this initiative, uniform standards and technical requirements are being created. This will improve the quality and safety of building materials.

The parties plan to develop recommendations and regulatory documents that will help classify products, simplify the process of confirming their quality, and protect manufacturers from counterfeiting and unfair competition.

The creation of uniform standards and technical requirements is an important step to ensure that materials such as foam glass are used more often. This will not only simplify the work for builders, but also involve more secondary resources in the turnover.
