Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov stated that stable internet will appear on Russian trains and airplanes within 1.5 years. This will be possible thanks to a new satellite constellation that will provide communication on rail and air transport.
Earlier, Ksenia Lazarenko from "Bureau 1440" reported that satellite internet on transport would be available to passengers by 2027. However, Roscosmos is speeding up the process. The deployment of the orbital constellation will eliminate communication interruptions even in remote regions.
Technologies are currently being tested to ensure high data transfer rates. This is important for passengers who work or use multimedia services on the go.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Roscosmos has not yet decided on the choice of the ROS inclination angle.
