Роскосмос планирует удвоить орбитальную группировку спутников за два года

The head of the state corporation, Dmitry Bakanov, spoke about plans to expand the Russian satellite network and its role in the space market

Russia participates in all segments of the space market, but lags behind in the number of satellites. This was stated by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, in an interview with RBC. Currently, there are about 10,000 satellites in orbit, 7,000 of which belong to Starlink. The Russian group has 300 devices.

Historically, in the soul of every Russian there is an absolute request to be the first in space.
Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos

Bakanov said that in the next two years, Russia will deploy another 350 satellites in low orbit. This will almost double the current number. He noted that leadership in space is important for Russians.

In the next two years, a group of 350 spacecraft in low orbit will be fully deployed. That is, in two years we will deploy as much as we have today.
Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos

It is worth mentioning separately that the head of the state corporation announced that one of the points of development will be the creation of a returnable first stage of the launch vehicle, which www1.ru reported earlier. This technology will significantly reduce the cost of space launches.
