Rostselmash Builds Europe's First Unique Testing Ground for Agricultural Machinery

Construction work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer

Don agricultural machinery manufacturer Rostselmash has announced the opening of a modern testing ground on the site of the former Taganrog Automobile Plant TagAZ. The test track is already ready, and work on the construction of the administrative building is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer. The first tests of agricultural machines at the new testing ground began in 2024.

The project will allow accelerated testing of both serial and promising equipment. The testing ground was built on the site of destroyed workshops — some of them were demolished, and some were restored.

The testing ground features an external track for mileage tests with a length of 800 meters. It includes sections for testing braking systems and vibration tests. There are also three ring tracks with a length of 122.5 meters along the average radius. Removable metal obstacles of various heights, located at different angles, are used for testing.

The equipment is tested around the clock to achieve the seasonal operating time standard. The undeveloped four hectares will be used to organize functional tests of road construction equipment, including checking the height and depth of digging, stability, and other parameters.

A 100-meter resonant road for vibration tests, made of Siberian linden and compliant with the ISO 5008 standard, has been put into operation at the testing ground. This testing ground will be the first multifunctional facility in Russia and Europe for testing diverse equipment.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia's most powerful forage harvester F 2750 was developed at Rostselmash.
