The launch vehicle will put the Ionosfera-M spacecraft and 18 small satellites, including an Iranian satellite, into orbit

The State Commission has authorized the fueling of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle. The launch is scheduled for 08:54 Moscow time. The main payload is two Ionosfera-M satellites designed to study the upper atmosphere. Along with them, 18 small spacecraft and an Iranian satellite will be sent into orbit.

Soyuz-2.1b will accelerate the satellites to a speed of 28,500 km/h, which is necessary to reach the desired orbit. The Ionosfera-M spacecraft are equipped with instruments for monitoring the ionosphere, a layer that affects radio communications, navigation, and "space weather." Data from these satellites will help improve communication systems and more accurately predict magnetic storms.
