Russian industry slowed down: afloat due to the military-industrial complex

In June 2025, industrial output fell by 1.9%

According to Rosstat, mining decreased by 2.4%, while manufacturing industries grew by 4.2%. But good processing indicators are ensured by increasing the output of industrial products at enterprises mainly related to the military-industrial complex (MIC), analysts believe.

In June, compared to May, industrial output fell by 1.9% after growing by 1.6%. This instability is caused by fluctuations in the production of military products.

The output of civilian products has shifted to a gradual decline, and in some industries it has seriously declined. For example, the production of other transport showed minus 26.8%, the production of computers and optics lost 8.6% of its previous volume, and the production of leather and products made from it - 4.7%.
