Russian airline S7 is ready to purchase up to a hundred modernized Tu-214 aircraft, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
According to him, the aircraft will be in demand by many air carriers.
We visited the aircraft manufacturing enterprise for the production of Tu-214. This is an aircraft that will be in demand. There are already customers for it. S7 has announced that it is ready to order up to 100 aircraft. And we talked to the plant today precisely on this topic.
In 2024, the airline S7 signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) to expand the carrier's fleet, involving the purchase of 100 improved Tu-214 aircraft.
Tu-214 aircraft are built at the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of UAC). The corporation's CEO, Yuri Slyusar, noted that by 2030, KAZ plans to build 115 Tu-214 aircraft, allocating 92 billion rubles for this purpose over the next two years. According to him, KAZ should first start producing 10 passenger aircraft per year, then 20.
Earlier www1.ru reported that MS-21 and SJ-100 delivery plans will be revised: the aviation industry development program needs to be changed.
