A modernized terminal and border crossing point have been opened at Yekaterinburg's Koltsovo Airport. This is reported by journalists.
Thanks to the renovation, the air harbor now has an automatic control booth. In addition, experts have updated the management of the checkpoint. The throughput has more than doubled.
After the modernization of the terminal, more than two thousand passengers per hour will be able to pass through it instead of 1300 - this is several large aircraft. The modernization was carried out without stopping the operation of the terminal in the face of growing passenger traffic.
Koltsovo Airport became the first regional airport in Russia to introduce the Sapsan automated passport control system. To use this service, passengers must have a foreign passport of the 75 series and higher.
The opening ceremony was attended by Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin and Acting Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Denis Pasler.
