New Russian car brand Tenet signs have begun to be installed at Chery dealerships in St. Petersburg. There are no cars in the showrooms yet, and the areas allocated for the brand remain empty and without branding.
Tenet is a project of the AGR holding in partnership with the Chinese company Defetoo. This is a rebranding of Chery cars adapted for the Russian market. Production is underway in Kaluga at the former Volkswagen plant, where, according to the authorities, the German quality control system has been preserved.
The first model is the Tenet 3XT crossover, based on the Chery Tiggo 7L. The preparation of the welding shop has already been completed, and the launch of full-scale serial production is expected in the near future.
Why this matters: the creation of the Tenet brand makes it possible to partially replace the departed foreign manufacturers, as well as preserve jobs and production facilities. Rebranding Chery cars makes the products more adapted to the Russian market.
