Завершена проходка первого тоннеля Рублёво-Архангельской линии метро в Москве

The "Sofia" shield completed the section from "Zvenigorodskaya" to "Shelepikha" in less than three months

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the completion of the first section of the new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line.

The "Sofia" tunnel-boring complex has completed the construction of the second tunnel between the "Zvenigorodskaya" station and the dismantling chamber near "Shelepikha". The work in difficult geological conditions took less than three months.

This completes the mechanized tunneling from "Shelepikha" to "General Karbyshev Boulevard" — 4.8 km. Previously, the "Natali" and "Victoria" shields were already working on the line. The first section is scheduled to open in 2026.

The Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line will become the 17th metro line in Moscow and will connect the "Moscow City" business center with new districts, including SberCity and, in the future, Krasnogorsk. The new line will relieve the existing lines and provide more comfortable mobility for hundreds of thousands of Muscovites.
