A new integrated microcircuit (IMS) has been developed and registered at INTEL NRNU MEPhI. It is designed to process signals received from semiconductor detectors.
This 16-channel microchip has unique functions. It amplifies and compares signals with a specified threshold, and also counts pulses arising from X-ray quanta.
The microchip operates asynchronously for each channel. This makes it possible to significantly increase the accuracy of recording individual events, such as the entry of an X-ray quantum. The development can be used in the field of high-energy physics and in medical diagnostics, where a high degree of accuracy in registering events is required.
