Славные традиции производства Як-40, МиГ-15 и Ми-4: ренессанс авиастроения грядет в Саратове

Rusaviaprom plans to resume aircraft construction in Saratov

The authorities of the Saratov region are working on a project to restore aircraft production. For this purpose, the Saratov Aircraft Engineering Plant (SZAT) was created, which will produce power plants, aircraft engines and simulators for flight personnel.

Alexey Kryukov, an entrepreneur associated with a number of aviation assets in Novosibirsk, has been appointed as the General Director. Kryukov is the head of Rusaviaprom.

In 1937, SAZ switched to aircraft production. During the WWII years, Yak-1 and Yak-3 fighters were produced here, and later MiG-15 jet fighters, Mi-4 helicopters and Yak-40/42 passenger aircraft.

After 1991, the plant fell into disrepair: bankruptcy, asset stripping and dismantling of infrastructure in 2012 led to its liquidation. Now the territory is built up with commercial and residential properties.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the MS-21-310 aircraft will "lose weight" by hundreds of kilograms thanks to new materials.
