In the first six months of 2025, there were 35 personal data leaks that affected more than 39 million records. This was reported by the Department for Combating Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Companies that allowed data leaks have been held accountable.

Law enforcement officials advise checking the reliability of passwords and data for leaks. They also recommend updating passwords on important services such as email, banks, and social networks every three months, especially if you learn about a leak in one of the services you use.

Earlier, Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, warned that in 2025, logistics companies would become the main victims of personal data leaks in Russia.
