The United States has removed the Russian company Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) from the sanctions list concerning Syria, according to a decree from the U.S. Treasury Department.
The company was removed from the list in connection with U.S. President Donald Trump's decree to lift restrictions on Syria.
Rosoboronexport has repeatedly been subject to American sanctions. In 2006, the state-owned company was placed on the U.S. sanctions list for a contract to modernize Su-24 front-line bombers for the Iranian Air Force.
In April 2018, U.S. authorities also added Rosoboronexport to the sanctions blacklist. The following month, the American administration once again imposed sanctions on Rosoboronexport Joint Stock Company.
