The Varyag missile cruiser (Third ship of Project 1164 Atlant) of the Pacific Fleet launched a Vulcan anti-ship missile at a mock target in the Sea of Japan, the fleet's press service reported.
Ships of the Primorsky Flotilla of Mixed Forces of the Pacific Fleet and the Bastion coastal defense missile system launched a missile strike on a complex target position in the Sea of Japan, simulating enemy ships.
The exercises also involved two strike groups on missile boats, which attacked targets with 4 Moskit cruise missiles.
The fleet's press service emphasized that the area where the firing took place was closed to civilian navigation and aviation.
