The "Pantsir" series of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) have begun to effectively counter drones, cruise missiles, and reactive and guided artillery shells. The feature of the modernized complex was revealed in the Rostec State Corporation.
The "Pantsir's" ammunition load has been replenished with new ammunition — short-range interception mini-missiles. The ammunition is designed to engage drones, both over the front line and when covering important objects.
Now one "Pantsir" will be able to carry not 12 missiles, but 48 at once, in order to increase the efficiency of intercepting small drones, which have become one of the significant threats.
The expanded ammunition load of the "Pantsir" complexes due to mini-missiles is especially relevant for repelling massive raids by small drones, including various types of FPV drones. Now one "Pantsir-SMD-E" can destroy dozens of UAVs.
