The first launch of the Soyuz-5 rocket with a payload will take place in 2028. This was announced by the Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Doszhan Musaliev.
The first rocket launch is scheduled for December 2025. Two more test launches will be conducted in 2026 and 2027. All three launches will be without payload, but will allow testing of the Soyuz-5.
Starting in 2028, there will be official launches, and four launches are planned annually, of which three have already been guaranteed by the Russian side.
Soyuz-5 will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome as part of the new joint Russian-Kazakh project "Baiterek". The cost of launching 1 kg of payload will be 300 thousand rubles. This is 40% less than that of Soyuz-2.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Soyuz-5 is still inferior to the American Falcon 9.
