Military personnel of the special forces unit of the Baltic Fleet, as part of the exercises, performed diving descents and conducted training in underwater combat, the fleet's press service reported.
Special forces soldiers in diving gear descended to a depth of up to 20 meters. In addition, they performed firing from underwater weapons: SPP-1 and APS. Underwater, the military personnel used melee weapons to destroy a mock enemy.
The exercises involved more than 20 military personnel, high-speed boats, as well as special equipment for monitoring the underwater situation.
The underwater assault rifle APS is designed for firing underwater at a distance of up to 30 m. It can fire in bursts or single shots. The rifle's cartridge resembles an arrow 15 cm long.
The special underwater pistol SPP-1 is capable of hitting targets underwater at a distance of up to 17 m and up to 20 m when firing in the air.
