Footage of the Russian loitering munition "Geranium-2" flying at a great altitude has appeared online.
In the video, it can be seen that the projectile is painted black, which positively affects the improvement of its stealth characteristics.
Machine vision allows "Geraniums" to autonomously recognize and confirm the target upon approach, using algorithms to compare the image with the loaded target profile. This is the same principle as the Storm Shadow missiles.
The system significantly reduces the load on the operator and allows the use of drones en masse, without personnel, which in theory could help to move to an even more massive use by increasing the number of operators and reducing training times.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Navy warships began escorting tankers through the English Channel.
