Crab Catchers "Kapitan Firsov" and "Kapitan Skovpen" Raised Flags at USC "Admiralty Shipyards"

The newest vessels of projects CCa5712LS and CCa5712P are ready to start fishing in the harsh conditions of the northern seas in the summer of 2025

The flag-raising ceremony for the new crab catching vessels "Kapitan Firsov" and "Kapitan Skovpen" took place at the USC "Admiralty Shipyards". Both vessels were built by order of the "Russian Crab" group of companies as part of the investment quota program.

Crab catcher "Kapitan Firsov" of project CCa5712LS

The "Kapitan Firsov" of project CCa5712LS, launched by the Petrozavodsk Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, is designed for catching and transporting live crab. It has an overall length of 57.7 m, a width of 12.6 m, a board height of 7.5 m and a draft of 4.84 m; deadweight 1,200 tons, gross tonnage 1,550 tons and a speed of up to 12.6 knots.

The "Kapitan Skovpen" of project CCa5712P, created at the "Okskaya Sudoverf" using Damen Engineering technology, combines crab catching with on-board processing of the catch. Both vessels are designed to operate in the harsh hydrometeorological conditions of the Bering, Okhotsk and Japanese Seas and are certified according to the PC class symbol — KM⍟ Ice2(hull; machinery) AUT3 (REF) Fishing vessel.

Under the technical supervision of PC specialists, the vessels successfully passed all sea trials, confirming their seaworthiness and reliability of equipment in operating modes. The construction was supervised by specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod and Baltic branches of the Register.

In the near future, both crab catchers will begin fishing activities, replenishing the fleet of "Russian Crab" and strengthening the position of Russian shipbuilding on the world market.
