The equipping of the lines for the production of the new Atom electric vehicle is being completed at the Moskvich car factory. This was reported by the press service of the car developer, Kama JSC.
The company noted that key areas for welding, painting, calibration, testing and quality control are already ready. As part of the commissioning, a batch of pre-production prototypes of the cars was manufactured. This series is designed to test technological processes and check the readiness of the assembly process for scaling.
The next stage will be the PT (Plant Trail) stage, at which the entire production chain will be worked out in serial mode. During this stage, the design indicators of the equipment will be checked, such as the manufacturing cycle time of the car and the reproducibility of the processes.
The production of Atom electric vehicles will begin at the end of July. The car is a four-meter electric car with rear-wheel drive and a powerful traction engine of 150 kW (204 hp). It will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery. This will allow the car to travel up to 500 km on a single charge.
Earlier www1.ru reported that at the Russian-Chinese Forum in Khabarovsk, Kama JSC and the government of the Khabarovsk Territory concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of electric vehicles.
