Detailed shots of the universal planning and correction module (UMPC) from a Russian air bomb have appeared online. The module survived the explosion of the ammunition and stuck its wing into the ground near the impact site.
A reconnaissance drone filmed the "installation" from different angles. Usually, the UMPC perishes along with the ammunition it is attached to.
The military has also begun using modernized air bombs with UMPC, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 95 km. Previously, such ammunition covered up to 80 km, but now their range has significantly increased. The air bombs received reinforced mounting systems, longer wings providing increased range, as well as new control technologies. The carriers of the projectiles are Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-57 fighters.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the production of the latest Il-76MD-90A aircraft will be increased to 12 units per year, only funding is needed.
