A new version of the nationally produced VCM-B anti-ship coastal mobile missile system has been showcased in Vietnam. The VCM-B complex entered service with the Vietnam People's Army in December 2023.
The system uses VCM-01 anti-ship missiles — a localized, modified, licensed version of the Russian 3M24E (Kh-35) missiles of the "Uran-E" complex.
In this case, new elongated transport and launch containers for missiles of a clearly increased range, probably an analogue of the Kh-35U missiles, are visible.
Technical characteristics of the Kh-35U missile:
- Maximum range — 260 km
- Length — 4.4 m
- Warhead weight — 145 kg
- Warhead type — penetrating high-explosive
- Launch weight — 670 kg
- Wingspan — 1.33 m
- Speed — 890 km/h
Earlier www1.ru reported that footage appeared of the flight of the Kh-101 strategic missile with the firing of L-504 dipole traps.
