The Black Sea Fleet frigate "Admiral Grigorovich" of Project 11356, which has been in service since 2021, has arrived on a visit to the Algerian port of Oran. The footage has appeared on social networks.
The Project 11356 frigates are equipped with the "Caliber" missile system, the main strike weapon of the ships. "Caliber" uses universal launchers that allow the use of various types of missiles, such as cruise missiles designed to engage ground and sea targets, as well as "Onyx" anti-ship missiles.
An A-190 artillery mount with a 100 mm caliber gun is mounted on the forecastle of the ship. There is also a pair of AK-630 mounts with 30 mm caliber guns.
"Admiral Grigorovich" is the lead frigate of Project 11356R, in service with the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The frigate is part of the 30th Surface Ship Division. It is named in honor of Admiral Grigorovich, the Russian Naval Minister in 1911-1917.
