IMEMO RAS: Indonesia May Decide It Doesn't Need Many French Aircraft

Russia may have a chance to reassert itself in the Indonesian arms market amid negative assessments of the results of the use of French Rafale fighters in the May Indo-Pakistani conflict. This was stated by Petr Topichkanov, Head of the New Challenges Sector in South and Southeast Asia at the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations named after E.M. Primakov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (0MEMO RAS).

About Su-30:

Su-30 (NATO classification - Flanker-C) is a two-seat multirole heavy fighter. Developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in the late 1980s on the basis of the Su-27UB training version.

It is designed to control group combat operations of Su-27 fighters in solving the tasks of gaining air superiority, covering ground troops and objects, destroying landings, as well as for conducting aerial reconnaissance and destroying ground or surface targets.
