Aeroflot intends to expand its production facilities for servicing the latest Russian MC-21 aircraft. The construction of additional hangars is planned. This was announced by Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky.
Plans also include expanding hangar space, taking into account the fleet expansion with the arrival of domestic MC-21s. We are planning to build up to four additional hangars, which will allow us to simultaneously service up to 10 MC-21 aircraft.
Aeroflot has more than 33,000 square meters of hangar space, which allows it to simultaneously service three wide-body aircraft and 18 narrow-body aircraft. With the arrival of a large number of MC-21s in the airline's fleet, there was a need to increase hangar space adapted specifically for this type of aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Aeroflot plans to receive more than 100 MC-21 aircraft.
