The Russian modernized strategic missile carrier Tu-160M "White Swan" significantly outperforms the American B-1 Lancer in key characteristics. The Russian aircraft reaches speeds of over 2,400 km/h, compared to Mach 1.25 for its competitor.
The flight range of the updated "White Swan" reaches 12,300 km without refueling, allowing it to strike targets on any continent. The payload is 45 tons of weaponry.
In 2024, the Russian army received the first serial-produced Tu-160Ms with digital avionics and NK-32-02 engines. The aircraft are equipped with the modern Novella radar system, the Himalayas electronic warfare suite, and secure communications.
The missile carrier can carry up to 24 cruise missiles of various types, including hypersonic models. The delivery of four more modernized aircraft is planned for 2025.
