Improved Seaworthiness by 20-30%: New Foiling Boat "Meteor-2020" Completes Trials

Project 03830 vessel features a modernized "canard" foil system

Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky (part of JSC " судостроительная корпорация «Ак Барс») has tested the foiling boat (SPK) "Meteor-2020" of project 03830 (construction number 205). This was reported by the press service of the developer by specialists of the design bureau "Si Tech".

SPK "Meteor-2020" of project 03830

"Meteor-2020" is capable of operating in waves up to 2 meters. One of the key achievements of the new vessel was an increase in passenger capacity by 20% and an improvement in seaworthiness by 20-30% thanks to unique solutions that distinguish it from traditional vessels of this type.

The vessel provides comfortable conditions for passengers and crew during long voyages, which can last more than 8 hours. The autonomy in terms of fuel reserves is 13 hours of continuous operation.

The spacious cabin accommodates 122 passengers and is equipped with comfortable seats, access to multimedia content via Wi-Fi, as well as a luggage compartment and closed shelves for hand luggage. Special attention is paid to the functional area for work and rest of crew members, as well as providing conditions for the transportation of passengers with disabilities and mothers with infants.

The modernized "canard" foil system is one of the features of the new vessel. It provides greater seaworthiness, allowing it to overcome high waves without automatic stabilization, and also reduces overloads and roll amplitude. This simplifies the lifting of both the bow and stern foils, which is especially important when moving in shallow water or approaching undeveloped shores.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the high-speed passenger foiling boat "Evpatoria" was handed over to the customer.
