Russia will retain freedom of action in the deployment of intermediate and shorter-range missiles

The country may abandon its previous unilateral restrictions

The Kremlin does not rule out the possibility of deploying Russian intermediate and shorter-range missiles. This was announced by the President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

According to the official, in the current situation, the Russian Federation may abandon its previous unilateral restrictions and restore full freedom of action in the field of missile weapons deployment.

Russia introduced a unilateral moratorium on the deployment of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (from 500 to 5,500 km) in 2019 after the US withdrawal from the Treaty on the Elimination of Such Weapons (INF Treaty).

The latter, signed in 1987 by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan, served as the basis for arms control for more than 30 years.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the new Rodnik 3D radar was created for the military, but it is not able to detect small drones.
