The R.E. Alekseev Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau shared information about the new high-speed planing boat, the Marlin. The vessel is designed for operation both as a pleasure boat and for official travel and special tasks.
The Marlin was created as a platform for developing high speeds on planing vessels. It is equipped with two diesel engines with a capacity of 850 hp each. The drive system uses Arneson-type partially submerged propellers from the company "Morskaya Energetika."
A unique engineering feature of the vessel is the patented bottom attachments — longitudinal-transverse steps that reduce hydrodynamic resistance. Thanks to this and the hull's features, the Marlin is capable of speeds up to 65 knots (approximately 120 km/h).
The boat is suitable for operation in coastal marine areas and inland waterways. The hull is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum-magnesium alloy. One of the key advantages of the Marlin is its stability on the move — the vessel is not subject to the "porpoising" effect, even when moving at high speed in rough conditions.
