«Аналогов нет»: компьютерную программу для выявления ошибок в уголовных делах разработал студент из Самары

The program is an electronic methodology for the step-by-step verification of a criminal case, the investigation of which has already been completed

A student of the Faculty of Law of Samara University named after Korolev created the first computer program in the country. It helps prosecutors, investigators and judges find errors in criminal cases. This was reported in the press service of the university.

This program is an electronic methodology for the step-by-step verification of a criminal case, the investigation of which has already been completed, in order to identify possible errors and violations committed by the investigating authorities during the investigation. Such verification is carried out by the prosecutor when the investigated criminal case with the indictment is submitted to the prosecutor's office for a decision on the further referral of the case to the court.

The student developer emphasized that the program does not identify errors on its own, but only indicates and reminds the user of possible violations during the investigation.

The program is created in Python and is intended for use on standard personal computers running the Windows operating system. The development of the program involved Yulia Kuvaldina, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law of Samara University, and an employee of the Samara Region Prosecutor's Office.

There are currently no analogues of this program in Russia. The development undoubtedly has elements of scientific novelty and is aimed at optimizing the activities of prosecutors when making decisions on an investigated criminal case.

She believes that this tool can be useful not only for prosecutors, but also for heads of investigative bodies and judges. Investigators will be able to use it to make decisions on the approval of the indictment, and judges - to prepare for the court session and assess the available data for sentencing.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a third of courts in Russia have already begun to implement artificial intelligence systems in their work. AI is most actively used in the courts of Moscow and the Moscow region.
