Technology retaliates: delivery robot throws off rider near business center in Moscow

Attempt to use rover as a bench results in man falling

An unusual incident occurred near the "Belaya Ploshchad" business center near the Belorusskaya metro station: a delivery robot threw off a man who decided to use the device as a bench. Eyewitnesses reported that a citizen with a bottle of beer tried to sit down on the rover, which was following its route.

Although such incidents are not the first time, this time the machine reacted actively. The rover sharply changed its trajectory, jerking and moving in different directions, until the violator was on the ground. The movements of the device resembled the behavior of an animal trying to get rid of a rider, which surprised and amused passers-by.

Delivery robots in Moscow have long become part of the urban infrastructure. In most cases, citizens are friendly to them, help them overcome obstacles and do not interfere with their work. However, episodes with violation of the "personal boundaries" of technology demonstrate that even automated systems can react to interference in their work.

This case emphasizes the need for respectful attitude to urban robotics, which performs useful functions and provides service to residents of the metropolis.
