Red Soft and TP Labs have launched sales of the AQ Phone M11 smartphone, which runs on the Red OS M mobile operating system. The device is positioned as the first mass-market product with a Russian OS that supports Android and Linux applications without Google services. The smartphone is already available on the HighScreen website for 18,990 rubles.
The AQ Phone M11 is equipped with an 8-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor (12 nm, 2018), 8 GB of RAM, and a 6.67-inch IPS screen with Full HD+ resolution. The system allows you to switch between mobile mode with an Android-like interface and RED OS Mode desktop mode with support for Linux applications. USB-C, Wi-Fi 5, and Wireless Display are provided for connecting peripherals.
The model is completely designed in Russia by Russian engineers. In order to ensure the optimal price-quality ratio, contract manufacturing of smartphones has been established in China.
The manufacturers emphasize the adaptation of the device to Russian ecosystems: all popular services are preinstalled.
The AQ Phone M11 is powered by the Red OS M platform, created by Red Soft. At the end of 2023, it was included in the register of domestic software.
The technical specifications raise questions. For example, the Helio P35 processor used in the smartphone is significantly inferior to modern chips in terms of energy efficiency and performance. Weighing 240 g and 10.2 mm thick, the AQ Phone M1 is heavier than many analogues, despite the standard 5000 mAh battery.
The developer company TP Labs explained that the model was originally developed for the corporate sector with an emphasis on security. Several hundred devices have now been released - the company will assess demand before expanding production.
